====== Model Lifecycle Management Activity Team Panelist Invitation ======


Esteemed Colleague,

Based on your contributions in the field of modern management and of modern model-based engineering, the Model Lifecycle Management Activity Team of the International Consortium of Systems Engineers (INCOSE) invites you to participate in a panel discussion on the state of affairs in model lifecycle management to be held in Edinburgh, Scotland in July 2016 at the INCOSE International Symposium.

If you would like to participate in the panel as a panelist, please read the description of the intention of the panel and the requirements the panelists must honor. Then complete the form that asks for contact information and for a brief biography covering professional experience and related personal experience.

===== Description of Panel Intention =====

  * WHEREAS: Engineered solutions conceived, implemented, and deployed after the deployment of the Internet, if not more complicated, at the least are more explicitly and intentionally coupled than are those developed before the Internet Age.
  * WHEREAS: Engineering enterprises are typically no longer composed of either sole individuals or of small teams sharing a common managerial authority. Rather, these enterprises are composed of architects, engineers, and stakeholders from multiple organizations that are physically located in multiple sites around the world.
  * WHEREAS: Engineered solutions provide services to more people for more purposes and the failures of such solutions have increasingly grave consequences.
  * WHEREAS: Stakeholders are more concerned about the provenance of changes made in both the specifications of systems and in the deployed systems.
  * BE IT RESOLVED THAT: Existing practices and systems for the management of modeled lifecycle information are inadequate for the nature of today’s enterprises and today’s systems and more effective management systems are necessary to enable managers to manage enterprises that are responsible for systems acquisition and maintenance.

===== Panelists’ Requirements =====

  * A panelist SHALL provide a single page position statement and biography.
  * A panelist MUST obtain and provide a right to INCOSE to publish in the conference proceedings the submitted position statement.
  * A panelist SHALL have the approval of their employing agency to speak openly on the topics that the panelist would expect to share during collegial conversation.
  * A panelist SHALL either have funding from their sponsoring agency or has personal funding to travel to Edinburgh and to pay all applicable conference fees.
  * A panelist MUST register for the conference and must attend the event in person. (Neither delegates nor electronic avatars can substitute for a panelist.)
  * A panelist SHALL be actively engaged in one or more systems engineering activities or managerial roles for projects undergoing acquisition or as a vendor (or non-commercial mentor) of related engineering tools and practices.
  * A panelist SHOULD be prepared to speak collegially with other panelists for approximately 60 minutes.
  * A panelist SHOULD be opinionated and conversational.
  * A panelist SHOULD consider disputing the claims of the panel.
